The ocean drilling ship is the first ultra-deepwater scientific research drilling ship in China, which is subordinate to the China Geological Survey Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources, with a design displacement of 42000 tons, and has the operation capacity of unlimited navigation area in the world's sea area and the drilling capacity of more than 10000 meters in the sea area. The ship was designed by the 708 Research Institute of CSSC and built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipping Co., Ltd.
As a "national weapon" supporting the construction of a maritime power, the design and construction of the ocean drilling ship focuses on solving major resource and environmental scientific problems in the deep part of the earth. It has two working modes: oil and gas drilling and ocean scientific drilling, and has both riser and riser free drilling. In addition, the dredger is also equipped with 10 kinds of advanced shipping equipment, forming 9 laboratories covering the whole field of marine research, and has built an international first-class standard paleomagnetic and ultra-clean laboratory for the first time, with the overall equipment and comprehensive working capacity at the international leading level.
